Gold Prospecting Tours In Eastern Oregon Or Idaho

Gold prospecting tours are offered in Oregon and Idaho.

Gold prospecting tours are a way for people to experience life the way it was 150 years ago. During these tours, clients are provided with basic prospecting and panning tools and training in the proper techniques that prospectors used back in the 1800s. These tours will take you through some scenic parts of Eastern Oregon and Idaho and are a way for friends and families to strike it rich together.

The Cracker Creek Mining Camp

Located in the mountains along the Cracker Creek in Sumpter, Oregon, this mining camp on Bourne Road has one of the biggest gold veins in North America. Both veteran and novice prospectors will offer instruction on the proper way to search for gold and help find those first few nuggets. The camp provides you with all of the all of the necessary equipment to get started. In addition to mining trips, Cracker Creek Mining Camp has a museum displaying tools and machines miners used.

The properties featured by Oregon Gold Trips have produced claims of almost $10 million in gold nuggets and dust. Guests who manage to find a few nuggets get to keep them, as this camp implements the "finders keepers" policy. Oregon Gold Trips offer tours in two different mining grounds: Wines Camp and Emlly Camp. At Wines Camp, cabins and beds with electric lighting are available. Guests have a chance to work with large gold mining equipment. In addition, guests are trained extensively in the art of gold panning, crevicing and metal detecting. Discounts are given for guests bringing their own RV, equipment, tent or trailer trucks. Emlly camp is a mining location deep in the wilderness of the Kalmiopsis forest. Here, guests are offered a 4-day stay in one of their furnished cabins. Training in gold prospecting and gold panning is conducted here by experienced gold hunters.
