Find Your County In Maryland

A map helps you visualize your county location.

Maryland is made up of 23 counties and Baltimore City. Baltimore City separated from Baltimore County in 1851 (See References 1). Each county has its own laws and sets its own taxes. Memberships to certain facilities in a county, such as gyms or community center classes, sometimes are discounted for county residents. Certain services such as free or discounted healthcare clinics are sometimes restricted to county residents. Given some services are available only to residents of certain counties, it is important to know your county of residence.

3. Find your county on the map located in the references section (See References 3). Major cities will be situated within their respective counties on the map. Become familiar with the bordering counties and the locations of all counties that make up Maryland.
