College swimming programs help you stay in shape while you study.
The State of Oregon has a number of community colleges that provide educational opportunities and flexibility to busy adults looking to expand their horizons without the weight of a full-time college schedule or price tag. Many of the colleges also offer extracurricular activities and competitive teams. Several of the community colleges in Oregon offer swimming programs.
Mt. Hood Community College
Mt. Hood Community College is located in Gresham, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. The college offers more than 60 technical and professional programs. It also supports a large aquatic center, the Mt. Hood Aquatic Center, which offers swimming programs to people of all ages. Programs include lap swim times, recreational swim times, first aid and CPR classes for college credit and lifeguard training.

Portland Community College: Sylvania
Portland Community College's Sylvania campus is located between Tigard and Lake Oswego, just ten minutes outside of Portland. The college provides courses in a number of programs including nursing, dental care, machine manufacturing, early childhood education, graphic design and many others. It also has a well-outfitted fitness center with a track, pool, weight rooms and gym. College students can take credited physical education courses in beginning swimming, intermediate swimming, lap swimming, swim conditioning or aquatic exercise.

Central Oregon Community College
Central Oregon Community College is located in the central Oregon city of Bend. The college offers a wide variety programs including biology, geology, economics, pre-medical courses, fire science, veterinary and forestry. They partner with the Juniper Swim and Fitness Center to offer several credited swimming courses including swimming fundamentals, masters swimming and swim fitness and technique.
