San Andres is an island in the Caribbean, a part of Colombia, although it is actually nearer to Nicaragua. The town is a duty-free zone, so shopping is good. There are also stunning beaches and premier scuba diving sites in San Andres, a growing resort area for South American tourists. It is only 17 square miles, and resorts and hotels of different types are scattered around the island. While there are many restaurants in the bigger hotels, a number of stand-alone restaurants can be found in San Andres, a good number of which specialize in seafood.

Wine bottles decorate the landscape, trees, and walkway to this restaurant set above water. There are four tables outside and 20 inside, all with glassware and linen tablecloth and napkins. The dining area has windows with shutters that can be removed to feel the breeze. Decorations are of a fisherman's motif, with lobster traps and ship lights adorning the ceiling. Most of the staff only speak Spanish. The menu, also in Spanish, is composed mostly of seafood: fish, lobster, shrimps, and more. There are appetizers and wine, soda and juice selections. The meals are served on china plates, and entrées come with plain white rice or coconut seasoned rice.

Margherita e Carbonara
This authentic Italian restaurant has options for indoor or outdoor dining. There are four tables outdoors, where patrons may watch passersby or enjoy the breeze coming from the ocean. Indoors are seven tables and on the walls are pictures of old Italy. Each table has glass containers with oil and vinegar, and two shakers containing each of spicy pepper and cheese. The menu has a full range of Italian food: spaghetti, penne, tortellini, gnocchi, lasagna, pizza, salads, meat dishes and fish. The selection of drinks includes white and red wines, beer and sodas.

El Rincon de la Langosta
Literally translated, Rincon de la Langosta means Locust Corner. Lobsters with noodles and lobster's claws are some of the many lobster specialties of this restaurant, although lobsters can be ordered any which way customers want. The restaurant claims not only to have the best food and service in San Andres, but also the best view of the sunset in San Andres. It lists part of its address as "where the sun merges with the ocean." It also has an infinite view of the Caribbean sea. Reservations are encouraged in this restaurant.
