Visit Oregon Hot Springs

Oregon has been blessed with a unique geological feature: the hot spring. These naturally occurring waterways have been harnessed for visitors to enjoy. For years people have praised not only the hot water’s stress-relieving qualities but also the natural mineral’s ability to help skin. Hot Springs is a terrific vacation spot to visit for the nature and history lover.

Instructions

1. Hike into Bagby Hot Springs for a little over a mile after you have driven through the winding Cascade trees of Bull of the Woods forest. This spring is open year round, providing individual and group soaking tubs. Summer is a busy season, while the winter snow keeps crowds away and provides a unique soaking experience.

2. Find the Belknap Hot Springs for a little less rustic experience than Bagby. This resort has been offering visitors to the McKenzie River area the hottest and most relaxing soaking experience for more than 125 years.

3. Step into a little beauty and history before you step into the hot springs at Hot Lake Hotel and Sanitarium. This formerly closed hotel on the banks of Hot Lake has been recently reopened to the public, providing a full spa weekend capped off by a dip in the hearty mineral spring water.

4. Visit the Bigelow Hot Spring in order to feel like you have stepped into another world. Known as the “Blue Hole” by many visitors, this fern-lined outdoor spring has been encouraging hikers to take a break and rejuvenate through the healing powers of spring water for as long as people have lived in Oregon.

5. Bring a group of coworkers to the Breitenbush Hot Springs. This spring offers group retreats and meeting places in addition to the soaking pools, so you can have a truly unique getaway from the office.
