Field Trips In Michigan

Educational field trips can be found in Michigan.

Michigan is in the Great Lakes region of the United States and has the world's longest freshwater coastline, according to the Michigan website. Michigan is home to many lakes, campgrounds and wildlife refuges with an array of activities. Many attractions are located within the state, including educational attractions for field trips.

Curious Kids' Museum

The Curious Kids' Museum in St. Joseph is a fun and educational place to take a field trip. The museum offers discount rates for field trip groups, with trips booked at least two weeks in advance. The maximum group size is 120 people. The museum has a variety of hands-on activities and exhibits. Some exhibits and activities include "Body Works," "Bubbles," "Kid Space," "Shadow Barn" and "What If?" The exhibits and programs will challenge the senses of each student and offer learning opportunities. As of May 2010, the museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

The Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is located in Grand Rapids and offers educational field trips for students. It is 132 acres of woodlands, natural wetlands, botanical gardens, meadows, a sculpture park and children's garden. The gardens offer guided tours for children of the indoor garden or by trams of the outdoor gardens (except in January and February). Group rates are available for educational school tours. The tours take one hour and feature a volunteer-led interactive experience. Programs are two hours and feature hands-on, curriculum-related activities. Programs cost more per person than tours, but both are educational.
