Children can enjoy hiking, walking and biking trails, the library or one of 26 area parks.

DeForest Public Library

The DeForest Public Library hosts several programs for children geared at generating an interest in reading as well as childhood development. The 1,000 Books Club rewards kids for checking out books and includes prizes for reaching 100, 250, 500, 750 and 1,000 books read. Special library activities and parties are held throughout the year to celebrate the success of the children. The Tiny Tot Time, for infants and pre-toddlers, features songs, rhymes and stories and is designated as one-on-one time for the child and parent. This program is limited to 12 children, and you must register to participate. On weekends, the library also features children's authors with related activities such as crafts, music and entertaining guests.
