However, relatively few of them offer specialized instruction in the particular areas of marine science, aquatic diversity and conservation, coastal management and oceanography. The M.S. program is comprised of coursework in marine biology and chemistry, biostatistics, coastal zone ecology, oceanography and geology. Students may choose to participate in field experiences for academic credit in ocean environments such as the Florida Keys, Australia, the Bahamas or Belize.
The graduate certificates address the contemporary environmental, biological, sociological and economic stresses that are affecting the world’s oceans and coastal zones.
