There are a variety of exciting camping options near Wild Mountain.
Wild Mountain is part of the St. Croix River Valley system, found in Minnesota and bordering Wisconsin. The spectacular geology, rich history and natural wonder of the area attract visitors year-round. Wild Mountain and Taylor Falls brings skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers in the winter, and adventure enthusiasts in the summer. A number of nearby state parks and private campgrounds provide additional recreational options and picturesque facilities.
Wildwood RV Park and Campground
The Wildwood RV Park and Campground is a short, ten-minute drive from the Wildwood Mountain Recreation area. This popular campground offers RV and tent camping locations under the sun or shade, including full hook-ups for campers. The resort-style facility boasts a heated swimming pool, mini golf, game room, free showers and restrooms, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, a huge playground and Wi-Fi. Visitors can hike or mountain bike on the trails, and are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle service to the Taylor Falls Canoe Rental. The campground has different pricing for adults and children, and also permits pets with a small fee. Reservations for holiday weekends can be made in advance on the official website. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, two nights are required for weekend camping. Walk-in campers also are welcome.

Wild River State Park
Wild River is a large, heavily wooded state park stretching along the St. Croix River with 35 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. The campgrounds have 96 sites, and 34 of them have power. Campsites are large and private, able to accommodate both large rigs and the lightweight backpacker. One handicapped accessible camping site is available. There are also a limited number of backpacking and canoe camp sites, as well as 20 rustic horse sites, some of which are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Canoeing and horseback riding are popular during the summer, while the winter brings 30 miles of groomed cross country skiing trails, hiking and snowshoeing. Visitors will pay an entrance fee in addition to nightly fees for camping. Pets are permitted.

Interstate State Park
This park is on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota, situated on the scenic Saint Croix River. Wild Mountain is a short drive north, though campers can also hike and run the river at this base camp. Roads are paved inside the park, and the campgrounds offers RV and tent sites. Interstate State Park is known for its scenery, hidden falls and majestic view of the Saint Croix River Valley. Canoe rentals available for trips downriver make the spot an especially popular place during peak season. Adventurers can also revel in the rock climbing and kayaking along the river. The south end of the park is primed for fishing and an afternoon picnic.

Camp Waub O-Jeeg
Camp Waub O-Jeeg presents a more personalized setting. Premium campsites and RV hookups can be found throughout the 40-acre wooded landscape of the Saint Croix River Valley. Playgrounds, sand toys and nearby parks make this camp a family-friendly site. Outdoor enthusiasts will want to call ahead to reserve one of the five hike-in remote tent sites available, in addition to the 45 drive-in tent sites. Only electric and water hookups are available for recreational vehicles, but hot showers and a general store encourage a comfortable and still rustic experience. Ice and firewood are available for purchase.
