There are many scholarship funds and charitable organizations that exist solely to help minority women succeed in the world of academia. AAUW Selected Professions Fellowship
The American Association of University Women offers the AAUW Selected Professions Fellowship to female minority students pursuing a graduate degree in areas such as law, medicine and business administration. The aim of the scholarship is to help minority women, who are historically underrepresented, excel in the professional world. To qualify, you must be a U.S. citizen in your final year of study, you must be academically accomplished and you must express an interest in working with women and minorities. The award amount ranges between $5,000 and $18,000.

Judith McManus Price Scholarship
The American Planning Association offers the Judith McManus Price Scholarship to female minority students pursuing a career in urban planning. Applicants must represent a minority culture and be enrolled full time in an accredited urban planning or development program. To qualify for the scholarship, students must demonstrate financial hardship and express an interest in working in urban planning upon graduation.

William Rucker Greenwood Scholarship
The Association for Women Geoscientists sponsors the William Rucker Greenwood Scholarship for minority women pursuing a graduate degree in geoscience from an accredited university in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. or West Virginia. Candidates must uphold the values and ideals of the association and demonstrate leadership capabilities. The award amount is $1,000 per academic year.

National Physical Science Consortium Fellowship
The National Physical Science Consortium offers the National Physical Science Consortium Fellowship to minority women pursuing graduate degrees in the sciences. Approved majors include astronomy, biology, physics and geology. To qualify, you must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be enrolled in an NPSC accredited school. The award amount is $16,000.
