Jbl Eon G2 Specifications

The JBL EON G2 speakers are evolutionary.

The EON line of speakers from JBL is an evolution toward powerful and versatile speaker systems for professional sound-reinforcement uses. These speakers took another step forward when they entered the second generation and earned the G2 moniker. All EON G2 speakers feature self-powering, meaning that no amplifier is required, and they are built with heavy-duty casings and components. They offer two sizes in the full-range units as well as a dedicated subwoofer. The G2 line is a pro-level audio component system.

EON10 G2

The smaller of the two speaker units in the G2 line, the EON10 G2 features a 10-inch woofer with a neodymium magnet. High frequency is handled by a 1-inch horn with a titanium diaphragm and ferrofluid cooling. Temperature is further controlled by a proprietary thermal management system known as Thermomaster, which is designed around a cast aluminum baffle and heat sync. The built-in amplifier delivers 125 watts of low-frequency and 50 watts of high-frequency amplification. It features three audio inputs as well as a loop out for daisy chaining multiple speakers together. Frequency response is 90 Hz to 16 kHz.

EON15 G2

This is the big brother to the EON10 G2, and it offers a 15-inch woofer with a neodymium magnet. The high-frequency horn has a 1 3/4-inch titanium diaphragm and ferrofluid cooling. Built-in amplification is rated at 300 watts of low frequency and 100 watts of high frequency. The amplifier has three inputs and one output, like its sibling, but adds a two-band equalizer for fine-tuning the sound output. It also adds tailored, dynamic processing to protect the speakers from being overdriven while maintaining good performance. The Thermomaster cooling system is also included to protect the unit from overheating. Frequency response is rated at 42 Hz to 17 kHz.

EONSUB G2

The EONSUB G2 is a dedicated subwoofer designed to work in conjunction with a full-range speaker such as the EON10 G2 or the EON20 G2. It provides 250 watts of low-frequency sound in the 42 Hz to 150 Hz frequency range. This sound is produced though a 15-inch driver with dual neodymium magnets and a 2-inch differential drive voice coil. It weighs 43 pounds and sports an integrated mount that allows it to act as a base for the EON10 G2 or the EON15 G2 speakers, creating a tidy stack. The enclosure features the same one-piece, co-polymer construction of the rest of the EON G2 line.
