Veterinary Camps For Kids

Veterinary Camps for Kids

If you love animals and want to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, attend a camp to determine if this is a career for you. Attending veterinary camp is also a good way for you to meet instructors and other students who could benefit your career in the long-term. No matter where you live or what age you are, chances are, there's a veterinary camp near you. Just find a veterinary sciences program at the college closest to you.

VETS Summer Camp Program

The Veterinary School at the University of Pennsylvania has created a summer program for both college and high school students in the 11th and 12th grades. The Veterinary Exploration Through Science (VETS) program is a day camp of one-week sessions geared toward giving campers firsthand experience in the veterinary sciences.

Texas A&M University Vet Camp

Held at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, this camp is designed for high school students. Its three-day program gives campers the opportunity to live in the college's dormitories, attend special sessions and discover the career opportunities available to graduates of the college program.

North Carolina Zoological Society

The North Carolina Zoo's Wild Veterinary Science Camps allow young people to discover the work and studies undertaken by zoo veterinarians. The camp's website states: "These camps are suited for youngsters who are serious about pursuing a career in science, especially in veterinary medicine or biology."

Boiler Vet Camp

This veterinary camp, offered by the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, has both a junior camp, for students in grades eight and nine, and a senior camp, for students in grades 10 and 12. It is the only camp of its kind in Indiana.
