Copper Canyon Expedition
Explore the geological wonders of Copper Canyon during a seven-day journey, including a two-day, first-class train trip on the Chihuahua al Pacifico. Larger than the Grand Canyon, Copper Canyon features dramatic scenery of deep arroyos and majestic pinnacles. Lead by an experienced geologist, the tour discusses the Tarahumara people and the geology of the Sierra Madre. Participants can float the Rio Fuerte and walk along the rim of the canyon. The tour includes two nights at the Hotel Posada Barrancas Mirador, situated on the edge of the canyon. Tour prices are per person based on double occupancy and airfare is not included. An optional four-day trip extension at the luxury Miraval Resort and Spa can be added for an additional fee.

Photography Workshop: Oaxaca: Day of the Dead
Capture the ceremonies and traditions of one of the oldest holidays in Oaxaca during an eight-day workshop with a renowned National Geographic photographer. The festivities of the holiday include costumed children, street dances, painted faces of adults and children in dramatic settings such as graveyards, ancient ruins and candlelight. Although there is a planned itinerary, the schedule can be changed to allow for spontaneous photographic opportunities. Time is set aside each day for participants to learn new techniques as well as editing and critiquing the group's images. The tour includes visits to the markets of Zaachila and Ocotlan, offering the opportunity to photograph colorful produce, textiles and the merchants. All workshop tour members must bring their own digital SLR camera and a laptop computer equipped image editing software. The workshop includes an overview of downloading, archiving, sizing and editing images on a computer and is suitable for amateur as well as experienced digital photographers. Each tour is limited to 25 participants and prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Airfare is not included.

Sea of Cortez Family Voyage
The eight-day adventure tour aboard the National Geographic Sea Bird is designed for families. Scheduled annually to begin on December 26, the New Year's tour includes exploring coastal Baja along with a knowledgeable team of naturalists. Activities for all ages are scheduled throughout the voyage, including nature talks, Zodiac trips, kayaking, games and snorkeling. The itinerary is based on discovering the wildlife of marine sanctuary of the Sea of Cortez, including dolphins, whales and sea lions. The schedule is flexible to take advantage of weather conditions and wildlife-viewing opportunities. The Sea Bird can accommodate 62 guests in 31 outside cabins. Each cabin includes an outer window, lower berths, a private bathroom, reading lights and individual climate controls. Sea kayaks and Zodiacs are kept on-board, providing easy access to coastlines, lagoons and coves. Airfare is not included and prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Discounts are available for children under 18.
