Grand Canyon Helicopter Adventure

The Grand Canyon, located near Fredonia, Arizona. is a 277-mile long canyon that was carved by the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon Helicopter Adventure is an exciting way to see this geologic wonder from an aerial vantage point.


Features


The Grand Canyon Helicopter Adventure is a daily tour that includes hotel pickup, a guided tour of the Sonoran Desert, a 30-minute helicopter ride over the deepest section of the canyon, a car tour of the rim and a stop at the Navajo Reservation trading post.


Significance


There are scheduled stops during the drive to and from the Grand Canyon, including those in Sedona for viewing the red rock canyons and along the canyon rim, where the guide will provide education information.


Time Frame


The tours leave daily at 6:30 a.m. and lasts for around 13 hours.


Considerations


Food and drink, gratuities and fuel costs are not included in the price of the tour. As of October 2009, the tour prices were $290 per adult and $198 per child under age 10. Every participant is expected to pay an additional $10 for fuel costs upon check-in.


Misconceptions


This tour is handicapped accessible; upon request wheelchairs will be provided, however, anyone in a wheelchair must be traveling with someone willing to assist with physical transferring.
