Harden Simmons University
The School of Music and Fine Arts at Harden Simmons University combines the performing arts and music in the same school. The music part of the program offers bachelor of arts and master's degrees. The program prepares students to teach music education, work in church music, perform and compose music.
Baylor University
The Baylor University School of Music gives student an opportunity to study music in a variety of forms. Students study music history, theories of music and the application of music theory. The school offers a range of educational options for students, including playing instruments, vocal training, composing music, church music and music history and literature.
Angelo State University
The Angelo State University Department of Art and Music offers two basic degrees for students - music and music with teacher certification. The first degree is a regular music degree, which allows students to learn composition, music history, conducting, music theory and the playing of various instruments. The degree with certification includes similar music lessons, but also provides lessons in teaching and teacher certification upon graduation for students interested in teaching music.
East Texas Baptist University
The East Texas Baptist University's School of Music is part of the National Association of Schools of Music, which provides accreditation to the school. The school teaches music in a variety of forms, including instrumental and singing. The singing groups at the school include choirs, opera singing and musical theatre.
