Prometric offers exams through which students may earn college credits.
Prometric offers more than 35 tests that allow learners to earn college credit for subjects they have already mastered. The tests encompass six different categories, including business, mathematics, humanities, technology and social and physical sciences. Prometric offers specific DSST exams that focus on individual aspects of each of these six subject areas.
Mathematics
The Fundamentals of College Algebra test includes topics like linear equations, functions and factoring. Principles of Statistics focuses on probability, sampling distributions, correlation and more.
Social Sciences
Social sciences tests include Substance Abuse, Criminal Justice, Art in the Western World, Western Europe since 1945, Introduction to the Modern Middle East, Human/Cultural Geography, Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union, History of the Vietnam War, the Civil War and Reconstruction, Foundations of Education, Life-Span Developmental Psychology, General Anthropology, Introduction to Law Enforcement and Fundamentals of Counseling.
Humanities
DSST offers three tests in the humanities. Ethics in America focuses on ethical traditions and the ethical analysis of problems and issues. Introduction to World Religions includes topics such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism. Principles of Public Speaking requires a multiple-choice test and an oral exam which a professional supervises.
Business
Business tests include Introduction to Computing, Personal Finance, Management Information Systems, Principles of Finance, Principles of Financial Accounting, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Supervision, Business Law II, Introduction to Business, Money and Banking and Business Mathematics.
Physical Sciences
Physical sciences tests include Here's to Your Health, Astronomy, Environment and Humanity, Principles of Physical Science I and Physical Geology.
Technology
Prometric offers a Technical Writing exam, which focuses on the theory of technical writing, content development and elements of technical reports.
