Many schools teach the basic information about volcanoes, such as their geographic location, reasons for erupting and the dangers of the lava. If you want to learn more about volcanoes or gather more information for a school project, there are various places you can look to find scientific and geologic information about volcanoes.

1. Browse through the library books to find more information about volcanoes. Do not limit yourself to titles with the word "volcanoes." Include basic and broader titles that include the keywords "natural disaster" and "lava."

3. Rent academic or learning videos that are geographic or biological in nature. Focus on videos that discuss natural disasters, the production of lava or the role of volcanoes on society and the world.


4. Gather a list of remaining questions, issues or concerns you may have regarding the information you have read or watched. Schedule an interview or discussion with a geology teacher or professor, who can provide you with the answers you need. Some teachers or professors will allow you to use their name as a reference or point you to the literature that will aid your search for information about volcanoes.


5. Contact a volcano observatory to gather answers, statistics and more scientific and in-depth knowledge about volcanoes. The information you get from a volcano observatory will provide you with a solid understanding about volcanoes.
