Allure resilient tile flooringgood choice

Allure Resilient tile flooring...good choice?

Hi, I am in hopes of replacing our kitchen floor...it's only 4 years old, but was purchased on the cheap and it looks bad and nothing I can do will make it look good again...along the edges the stuff is actually peeling away and our 3 dogs have nails that have made deep scratches that also won't go away...we just need to replace the floor with something not only attractive, but it needs to be good and tough to resist the dogs getting it scratched up. It's going to be DIY to save money...and from whet I see, these large plank tile floors that float over the exsisting floor are an excellent choice. What I'd like is opinions on the Allure resilient plank flooring tiles (not the ones that look like wood, but that look like ceramic tiles)... I was all set to buy these Allure tiles at Home Depot, but in doing some research before I buy, I read that sometimes they produce a strong smell of somekind...that these flooring tiles are made in China so sometimes you get a box that has a chemical mixture that gives off the bad small once you lay them down on your floors... I'd also like to know if anyone has had this floor long enough to tell me if it holds up under heavy doggie traffic...I don't want to see scratches on the floor... is this type floor easy to keep up...has anyone used a wax on it, or just keep it wax free? I would very much appreciate any feedback on Allure Resilient Plank Flooring (looks like ceramic tiles) ...upkeep, durability and best place to buy. Thank you I have a client who installed the Allure in her den, and did an excellent job, professionally speaking. It has held up for 3 years, 3 kids, one dog and countless parties, both adult and kids, so I have to say it is a pretty good product. I asked her about how easy she found it to install, and it didn't present any problems. Thanks, chandler...I shouldn't have read any reviews on the product...I started to second guess myself...appreciate your reply. Anyone else have something to say about this flooring... You're gonna get different reviews on almost anything. I find, quite often, bad reviews come from bad installations, which the flooring itself had nothing to do with. This was a headstrong young lady, wife of a doctor, weighs in at almost 100#, who, during the housing boom couldn't find anyone to set her septic tank and field. Too busy. She studied, took the state license test, got on her husband's Kubota, dug and set her own. Still holds her license. Just don't get in her way. If she is pleased, I'm pleased. Sounds a little like me...I'm a horsewoman and farmer...do it yourself isn't just for home projects!! Agreed...you read enough reviews on any product and you will find a lot of negative ones...which is a good thing, I guess. Anyway...I have time to see if anyone else chimes in on this...need to get the living room work done first. Thanks, chandler.
