There are many different types of Engineering to explore.
Rhode island has four engineering schools to choose from. While many universities have specific admissions requirements, many of these colleges look at the individual application and factor in experience, education and extracurricular activities when determining acceptance. Students can choose from one of many disciplines in engineering, which include mechanical, electrical, computer and civil engineering.
Brown University School of Engineering
The Brown University School of Engineering is located in Providence, Rhode Island. The school provides bachelor degrees for studies in biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering. All disciplines equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of the engineering industry. Brown selects applicants based on their special abilities and accomplishments.
The New England Institute of Technology
The New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, Rhode Island provides several engineering programs, including software engineering technology, electronics engineering technology, architectural building engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology. The programs teach students about theory and application.
The University of Rhode Island
The University of Rhode Island, College of Engineering is located in Kingston. Students can choose from chemical, civil and environmental, electrical, computer and biomedical, mechanical and ocean engineering programs. All courses are accredited by the International Engineering Program. Students must supply an application form and fee, as well as provide an official high school transcript, official SAT and ACT scores and at least one letter of recommendation.
Roger Williams University
The Roger Williams University, located in Bristol, Rhode Island, provides engineering programs in the areas of civil, computer, electrical, mechanical and structural engineering. The programs balance theory and practical application in each field of engineering. The admissions committee considers the academic courses, achievements, extracurricular activities and recommendation letters of each student that applies to the program.
