Savannah offers students a few choices when it comes to junior colleges.
Savannah is a well-known city on Georgia's eastern edge. The city's rich history and southern charm make it a popular tourist destination. The area, though, is not the small burg that some imagine. Instead, it's a major center of business and culture. With a population of more than 130,000, Savannah's residents put education high on their list of priorities. The city features a well-established technical college, and other junior colleges are approximately 50 to 90 miles away.
Savannah Technical College
This two-year college with five Georgia campuses offers associate's degrees in 18 fields, including accounting, automotive technology, business administration, criminal justice, computer networking, the culinary arts and paramedic technology. Savannah Technical also offers a number of diploma and certificate programs designed to speed the transformation of students into their new career fields. The school has an enrollment of approximately 4,000 students, who are spread evenly across the school's campuses. Savannah Technical College was founded in 1973.

Southeastern Technical College
This two-year college is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. The school has campuses in three cities--Vidalia, Swainsboro and Glennville, Georgia. The Vidalia campus is nearest to Savannah, approximately 90 miles to the west. Commuters can reach the school by traveling west from Savannah on Interstate 16. The college opened in 1990. The Vidalia campus was created in 1998. The college offers programs in business technologies, health sciences, industrial technologies, human services and adult education.

East Georgia College-Statesboro Campus
This two-year University System of Georgia college operates its main campus 90 miles northwest of Savannah in Swainsboro, Georgia. The school, though, also has a satellite campus in Statesboro, Georgia, which is located 55 miles northwest of Savannah off Interstate 16. East Georgia College offers a number of two-year degrees in fields such as criminal justice, foreign language, geology, computer science, agriculture, business administration and political science.
