Blanco makes a line of faucets used in homes and businesses. The kitchen faucets use a ceramic cartridge which changes the water flow and temperature. If you need to repair a leak in the handle, change the cartridge by taking the handle off. This small device operates water flow rates for both the hot and cold inlets. It takes a little know-access this part but if you follow directions closely and have all the proper tools, it is a 10 minute job.
Instructions
1. Shut off the water to the faucet by closing the valves underneath the sink. To close, turn each clockwise until it stops.
2. Remove the handle on the faucet where the leak is located. Remove the set screw by unscrewing it with a screwdriver. Use an Allen wrench if the faucet uses an Allen-style screw. Pull the handle off the base of the faucet.
3. Take the decorative cap off, this is a round, horn shaped piece. Unscrew the packing nut, which is the hex-shaped nut right under the handle near what would have been the handle's base when it was attached to the faucet. Use a large plumber's wrench or channel locking pliers to get this nut off.
4. Take the cartridge out of the handle base by pulling it straight up and out. Put a new cartridge in its place. Replace the packing nut and washers as applicable and slide the handle back on.
5. Install the handle screw and tighten it with your Allen wrench to secure it.
