Remove Grease From Work Gloves

Lift grease and dirt from work gloves by soaking them.

Work gloves protect your hands from blisters, grease, dirt and other elements. Sweat, oil and grease cakes on the outside and inside of the gloves, decreasing their gripping ability over time. Soaking the gloves in a cleaning solution that includes a common household liquid breaks apart grease and grime without reshaping or staining the gloves. Soaking the items instead of merely scrubbing them eliminates unwanted odors that appear on the inside and outside of work gloves.

Instructions

1. Fill the sink, bucket or tub with enough warm water to cover all of the work gloves.

2. Add 1 cup each of white vinegar and liquid laundry detergent into the water.

3. Place the work gloves in the solution. Squeeze the gloves for a minute or so while they're soaking to work the cleaning solution throughout the inside and outside of the gloves.

4. Soak the gloves for 15 to 30 minutes. Then, scrub them with a sponge or non-scratch brush to remove any stuck on grease.

5. Rinse the gloves thoroughly with lukewarm water. Turn the gloves inside out and rinse them again to eliminate all vinegar and soap.

6. Hang the gloves outside or in a well-ventilated room until they've dried.

Tips Warnings

Avoid using a dryer with work gloves. Dryers cause such gloves to lose their shape.
