Troubleshoot Levolor Verticals

Vertical blinds sometimes need troubleshooting.

Levolor vertical blinds are a popular choice for many homeowners. They provide privacy for large windows, sliding glass doors and patio doors. Vertical blinds are composed of slats of plastic, fabric, wood, plastic or metal that open and close when you pull a cord. They can let in just the right amount of light for your needs. As versatile as they are, there are times when your verticals may not operate properly. Before calling a window covering specialist, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot problems with your Levolor Vertical Blinds.

Instructions

1. Fix a blind that is out of alignment by removing it and reinserting it. Slide a credit card up the blind on the side where it is hooked. Slide the credit card along the top of the blind so you can slide the blind out of the hook to remove the blind. Pull the rotation chain to line up all the hooks. Reattach the blind by inserting the hook into the hole in the top of the blind.

2. Repair a chain that is not operating properly. There is a pulley with a rod in the center that has a round metal washer. Tap the rod gently with your finger to loosen the push nut on the opposite end of the headrail at the top of the blinds. This should make the chain run more smoothly.

3. Remove large gaps between blinds by removing the spacer tubes between the blinds with a screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver in the tube and it should pop off. The blinds should now be closer together.
