The Ford Explorer should have functional headlights at all times.
The Ford Explorer is an SUV built by the Ford Motor Company since 1990. Like all vehicles, the 2010 Ford Explorer should have its headlights replaced whenever a bulb burns out. Although this guide is only for the 2010 Ford Explorer, most Explorers have a similar method of headlight replacement.
Instructions
1. Park the Explorer and open the hood. Make sure the engine is turned off and allow a few minutes for the vehicle to cool. Put the gloves on.
2. Remove the three screws located at the top of the headlight assembly. Pull the headlamp towards you and away from the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the rear of the headlight assembly by pulling it out. Remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle.
4. Rotate the old bulb counterclockwise and pull it out. Push the new bulb into the headlamp assembly and rotate it clockwise. Reconnect the electrical connector and gently place the headlamp assembly back into the Explorer.
5. Reinstall the three screws to secure the assembly into place. Close the hood.
Tips Warnings
Avoid touching the bulb with your bare hands. Doing so can cause hot spots to form on the glass of the bulb, resulting in early bulb failure.
