Aquasana rhino eq300 whole house water filter

Aquasana Rhino EQ-300 Whole House Water Filter???

Does anyone have experience with this product? I am considering adding 1 or possibly 2 in parallel as a point-of-entry system to improve the quality of municipal water at our home. The water quality is not terrible currently, but I would like to improve it further especially as we have a yound baby. For anyone interested, here is a link to a recent water quality report put out by the city: http://www.cityofmitchell.org/works/...hell%20web.pdf The table on the second page lists the test results for two separate sources that can be used in our water supply. One is a man-made lake (listed as Mitchell Water), and the other is piped in from the Missouri River (listed as B-Y Water). Roughly 99% of our water comes from the B-Y Water. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Thanks for your help!!! Hate to bump an old thread but I'm also looking at this filter to cure our water hardness. The filter is designed to remove chlorine from a city water supply. It does nothing for hardness. I don't recommend removing chlorine from city water on a whole house basis. The residual chlorine prevents colonies of bacteria growing in the plumbing system. If you find the chlorine objectionable in your drinking water or a shower a point of use filter is the preferred solution. Thanks...I've learned a lot about softening water since I posted that. I need some sort of ion exchange. This won't do anything. This definitely is not a unit I would recommend here in South Florida. One side is KDF which only removes free chlorine from the water using crushed zinc and copper. Here all our chlorine is in the chloramine form and KDF does not remove chloramines. The other half is a carbon mixture. To have the slightest chance of effectiveness at least a full cubic foot is recommended, not one little half tank, and with our color a softer carbon only would be best, not a mixture. I have the Aquasana whole house filter. It is very good at removing chlorine and other dangerous contaminants. As far as softening your water, i would not know because i also have a Kinetico water softener system installed at my house. Based on your water results, your water s not as bad as mine so you should be in good hands. When it comes to improving the quality of your water, i would recommend the Aquasana Rhino. To witness what it has done to the quality of my water is amazing to say the least. You can contact Aquasana for more information
