Decorate With Chocolate Fountains

Chocolate fountains make delicious centerpieces.

Chocolate fountains make stunning decorations for all events, from dinner parties to ornate wedding receptions. In addition to being beautiful centerpieces, the chocolate is edible, so they double as appetizers. Make a splash at your next event with one or several of these decadent decorations.

Instructions

1. Stick silk flower stems into florist's foam, so that all of the flowers are standing up and not touching. You may need to cut the stems to make the flowers stand upright on the foam. If any of the flowers are touching, they will get stuck together or not be fully covered by the paint.

2. Spray paint the flowers. Be sure to do this in a well ventilated area, preferably outdoors. Allow the flowers to sit for 20 minutes and give them a second coat of paint. Let the flowers fully dry overnight before removing them from the foam.

3. Arrange the pedestals or tables on which you are going to place the fountains around the room that you wish to decorate. Keep them near the rest of the food if you are going to be serving buffet style. If there are not going to be any other food tables, consider setting up a small table with items for dipping next to or near your chocolate fountains.

4. Drape the table cloth over the table. If you are using pedestals, consider leaving the table cloth off, as many pedestals are decorative pieces on their own.

5. Set up the fountains on the tables and pedestals. Read all directions for proper usage before setting up the fountains. If you are renting the fountains, ask for a representative of the company to help setting up or provide instructions. Turn on the fountains.

6. Arrange the silk flowers along the fountains' base. Arrange them in vases for a more sophisticated look or to match other decor. If you do not want to use vases, lay the flowers on the table or pedestal all around the fountain's base. Be sure that none of them are close enough to the fountain to touch the chocolate.

Tips Warnings

For weddings, try using white chocolate in the fountains and spray painting the flowers white instead of brown.
