Remove Cooking Spray Residue From Pans

Are you looking for ways to lower the fat in your diet? Since they contain little to no fat, cooking sprays are a convenient way to do just that. Non-stick cooking sprays are designed to make clean up a breeze when cooking. If pans are not cleaned right away, however, cooking spray can build up and leave an unsightly residue. Fortunately, this residue can be easily removed.

Instructions

1. Combine water, bleach and baking powder in the soiled pan.

2. Bring mixture to a boil and allow to boil for 10 minutes.

3. Wash the pan as usual.

Tips Warnings

To prevent residue stains, always spray cooking spray on cold rather than pre-heated pans and wash immediately after use.

To remove residue from metal baking pans, use a non-abrasive cleaner like a nylon pad or Bar Keeper's Friend.

To remove residue from glass dishes, spray with oven cleaner (cold-oven formula) or a de-greaser, allow to set for a few minutes, then scrub well.

For your non-stick coated cookware, follow your manufacturer's instructions to clean. Many experts recommend not using cooking sprays with non-stick cookware.
