Hook Up A Portable Washer To The Kitchen Faucet

Portable dishwashers allow you the convenience of automatic dishwashing in places that otherwise might be too cramped for a standard unit. These types of dishwashers are used in mobile homes and RVs, where space is tight. For these appliances to work, you first have to hook up a portable washer to the kitchen faucet. This is where the appliance draws its water supply for spraying on the dishes.

Instructions

1. Unscrew the aerator from the end of the kitchen faucet spout by turning it counterclockwise. Use the pliers, if needed.

2. Connect the quick release fitting for the portable washer to the end of the faucet spout. In most cases, this will simply screw into the spout where the aerator was fastened. You may need to add aerator screens (usually included) to the quick-release fitting when installing.

3. Move the portable washer next to the kitchen sink where you will be connecting it to the faucet.

4. Run the hot water in the faucet until it comes out in a steady stream at the hottest temperature. Turn off the faucet. Connect the end of the portable dishwasher hose to the quick-connect fitting. Turn the faucet back on slowly.

5. Loop the dishwasher hose over the edge of the kitchen sink.

6. Plug in the portable dishwasher to the nearest outlet.

Tips Warnings

The above steps are just a guideline. Follow the specific instructions for hooking up your portable model to the kitchen faucet.
